Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Communications Director to lead our company-wide communications strategy, shaping voice, messaging, and brand across internal and external channels.

The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller who can translate complex topics for executives, clients, and communities, while guiding a high-performing team and partnering with technical experts and business leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related areas.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills.
• Experience advising executive leadership on strategic communications.
• Experience leading and developing communications professionals and coordinating teams or external partners.
• Strong understanding of brand strategy, reputation management, and integrated marketing communications.
• Experience managing corporate websites, digital channels, and social media.
• Experience developing thought leadership content and positioning experts as industry voices.
• Experience with internal communications and communicating company strategy and culture.
• Experience with media relations and building relationships with industry outlets.
• Strong analytics to evaluate communications effectiveness.
• Strong leadership and collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an integrated, company-wide communications strategy aligned with business objectives and brand.
• Lead the Benesch brand, voice, and messaging across channels and platforms.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and organizational leaders.
• Oversee website content, digital communications, and social media presence.
• Develop thought leadership content with technical experts and business leaders.
• Lead media relations and broaden visibility in industry publications and conferences.
• Coordinate campaigns across internal and external communications and digital platforms.
• Mentor and develop the communications team and collaborate across marketing functions.
• Measure effectiveness using analytics and continuously improve programs.
