Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Director will lead a team of professionals and align messaging across college units and campus partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or closely related field.
• Ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in communications, with supervisory experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategic communications plans aligned with university priorities.
• Lead media relations, serve as spokesperson, and manage external communications.
• Oversee crisis and issues communications, including post-incident reviews.
• Provide editorial leadership for university news and storytelling across channels.
• Establish goals and metrics; report on performance of communications initiatives.
• Lead and mentor communications staff and manage budgets and resources.
