Job summary

Vanderbilt University Public Safety seeks a Communications & Engagement Manager to lead the development, execution, and refinement of a comprehensive communications and community‑engagement strategy that supports the Chief’s four imperatives and strengthens trust across the Vanderbilt community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, public affairs, marketing, or community engagement.
• Experience in public safety, higher education, or government strongly preferred.
• Experience partnering with or communicating to student audiences is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated campus safety communications strategy.
• Create clear, accessible materials across channels and ensure accessibility.
• Build and sustain relationships with students, faculty, staff, neighbors, and external partners.
• Track metrics and provide regular analytics to leadership.
