Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Management, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years management experience in law enforcement or security.
• Knowledge of university and police directives and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership for a designated security unit or shift, optimizing staffing, resource allocation, and performance outcomes.
• Develop, maintain, and adjust shift schedules to ensure continuous and efficient coverage.
• Lead routine audits and inspections of personnel, equipment, and processes to guarantee compliance with departmental standards.
• Review and authorize all supervisory reports and documentation, ensuring completeness and adherence to required standards.
• Maintain comprehensive operational records and data; conduct research to prepare strategic proposals and contingency plans.
• Serve as operational backup for shift supervisors during critical staffing needs or emergencies.
• Oversee the comprehensive training and professional development of all direct reports, including Weapons Detection Specialists and Community Service Officers.
• Execute all aspects of personnel administration, including time sheets, payroll submissions, time-off requests, and leave of absence processes.
• Lead the performance management process: formal evaluations, feedback, and corrective action.
• Coach and mentor staff to enhance engagement and performance; conduct disciplinary actions as needed.
• Participate in recruitment and selection for new hires, including interviews and recommendations.
• Oversee and manage service-oriented operations: emergency response, building security checks, patrols, and escorts.
• Coordinate security operations for high-profile events and ensure crowd control and safety.
• Maintain communication with department leadership and report significant incidents and trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
