Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO is seeking a Commodity Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies for non-ferrous metals and plastics, aligning with engineering, quality, and finance teams. You will lead supplier selection, cost optimization, and risk mitigation for materials that impact product cost.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 5+ years in strategic sourcing in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing and terms.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with ERP and sourcing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SyteLine).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies for assigned materials and components.
• Identify and manage opportunities where materials drive cost, across categories.
• Use market intelligence to identify cost reduction and risk mitigation opportunities.
• Lead cost optimization using TCO, should-cost analysis, and value engineering.
• Monitor pricing, market trends, supplier capabilities, and capacity constraints.
• Support new product development through supplier selection and early engagement.
• Negotiate pricing and supplier terms aligned with company needs.
• Identify and manage supply risks including financial health, geopolitics, and continuity.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on supplier qualification and performance.
• Drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with other specialists on category changes and knowledge transfer.
