Job summary

Benchmark is seeking a senior commodity leader to shape and direct commodity strategies, practices, systems and metrics across our global operations. You will lead commodity teams and manage strategic supplier relationships to meet business unit material needs.

The role requires 8+ years in commodity purchasing, a four-year degree, strong negotiation, contract management and financial acumen, plus the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 8+ years of experience in commodity purchasing
• Experience in large volume, more complex commodities
• Demonstrate expertise in negotiation, implementation and maintenance of supplier contracts
• Strong financial understanding, risk analysis and project management
• Ability to analyze, develop and implement process improvements
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Mentor buyers and/or supply chain analysts in commodity strategies
• Develop appropriate business relationships with key suppliers
• Support customer strategic and tactical material needs
• Develop, communicate and manage commodity strategies to support objectives
• Supervise the strategic sourcing process for assigned commodities
• Coordinate supplier scorecard activities and reviews
• Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts
• Establish contractual agreements with suppliers and external sources
• Monitor component market trends
