Job summary

Körber is seeking a Commodity Manager Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage suppliers, and oversee logistics procurement for North American operations. You will lead RFQ/RFP processes, drive cost savings, and monitor supplier performance to ensure continuity and value.

Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to support customer projects and growth. Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, cost reduction, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Strong knowledge of transportation, freight, warehousing, 3PL operations, supply chain risk management, and operational excellence.
• Advanced analytical skills, including spend, market trend, and supplier performance analysis, with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics).
• Strong project management, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity and sourcing strategies aligned with business growth and operational needs.
• Lead RFQ/RFP, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and flow-down of requirements.
• Drive cost savings, value engineering, supplier optimization, and total landed cost reduction.
• Establish strategic supplier and logistics partnerships with scorecards and reviews.
• Evaluate supplier performance, capacity, financial stability, and risk while driving improvements.
• Partner with Operations and Project teams to improve logistics readiness, inventory, lead times, and transport performance.
• Monitor market and supply chain risks; develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
• Analyze spend and KPI data; ensure procurement compliance and report savings to leadership.
