Job summary

Penn National Insurance is seeking a Commercial Lines Territory Manager to serve as a liaison between agents, underwriting and corporate teams within the Central Atlantic Office, focusing on Maryland. The role drives profitable growth in premium and policy count and oversees agency management initiatives.

You will evaluate agents, oversee risk and pricing philosophies, and support cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliant, profitable expansion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ property/casualty commercial lines underwriting and/or marketing experience.
• Agency or broker experience with underwriting exposure/risk and marketing may substitute for carrier experience.
• Active agent’s P&C license in domiciled state preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop the agency force to pre-qualify, rate, and bind profitable commercial lines business.
• Utilize authority to assist agency partners in helping them write profitable business.
• Develop professional relationships with agents, underwriting and claim teams, and corporate departments.
• Conduct evaluation of prospective agents and submit written recommendations to Regional Vice President.
• Maintain two-way communication between agent and company.
• Monitor agency results and ensure growth and compliance with initiatives.
