Qualifications

• Minimum five years of property/casualty commercial underwriting.
• Minimum three years of marketing experience with a P&C carrier preferred.
• Active agent P&C license preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop the agency force to pre-qualify, rate, and bind profitable commercial lines business.
• Utilize authority to assist agency partners in helping them write profitable business.
• Review new business quote requests to determine acceptability using underwriting authority and guidelines.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and policy interpretations with agents and company personnel.
• Provide feedback to Underwriting Manager and RVP on submission quality and interactions with agencies.
• Document underwriting files with actions, decisions, and follow-up diaries.
• Develop professional relationships with agents, regional underwriting, and corporate departments.
• Visit agencies to discuss underwriting matters and develop new business; strengthen agency relations.
