Job summary

People's Bank & Trust Co in Edmond, OK is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Lending Assistant to join our lending team. The role supports the commercial lending department with loan documentation preparation, processing, and file maintenance while delivering excellent service to our clients.

This full-time position operates Monday through Friday 8:00am–5:00pm. The successful candidate will collaborate with loan officers, verify information, and help ensure timely processing, regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience in a financial or administrative role, preferably within banking or commercial lending.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and processing of commercial loan applications and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with loan officers and clients to gather information necessary for loan processing and approval.
• Maintain and update loan files and records, both electronically and in physical formats, to ensure they are complete and up-to-date.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to client inquiries, resolving issues, and offering support throughout the loan process.
• Perform preliminary analysis of loan applications to ensure all required data is provided and accurately assessed.
• Collaborate with other departments to expedite loan processing and approvals, ensuring adherence to timelines and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to the commercial lending process.
• Monitor the status of active loans and provide updates to both clients and internal stakeholders as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay informed on industry regulations, trends, and best practices.
