Job summary
Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Director (Materials/Metals) to lead the full commercial function, including procurement and sales, from our Chester facility. The role reports to the Managing Director and drives growth through supplier partnerships, pricing strategies and market insights.
The ideal candidate has substantial senior commercial leadership in metals or industrial materials, with travel up to 50% (Europe 2-3 times monthly) and strong CRM/ERP, Excel and
Qualifications
- Significant senior commercial leadership experience within a metals manufacturer or similar industrial materials environment.
- Proven track record in procurement and sales leadership roles.
- Experience developing and executing commercial strategies for growth.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial strategy and lead procurement, sales and operations.
- Develop and deliver the company's commercial strategy to support growth.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing commercial team (3-5 people).
- Establish KPIs and report to board on performance and market insights.
- Develop sourcing strategies for raw materials and manage supplier relationships.
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements to ensure security of supply and pricing.
- Drive sales growth across advanced material product ranges and markets.
- Collaborate with technical, quality, finance and planning teams to align supply and demand.
