Job summary

Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, WA seeks a President to serve as chief executive officer, providing strategic, student-centered leadership for college operations, academics, personnel, finances, and institutional effectiveness.

Reporting to the Chancellor, the President will lead strategic planning, accreditation, enrollment management, and workforce education, advance student access and success, oversee budgets, and represent SFCC with employers, districts, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, organizational leadership, administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of senior-level administrative experience in higher education.
• Experience in academic and student affairs leadership and fiscal management.
• Knowledge of labor relations and personnel practices.
• Commitment to community college education and student success.
• Strong communication and consensus-building abilities.
• Doctorate or terminal degree preferred.
• 8–10 years of senior leadership experience at executive level.
• Experience with Washington State higher education.
• Experience with enrollment growth, accreditation, program development, and student-success initiatives.
• Experience with collective bargaining and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead institutional strategy, planning, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Advance student access, retention, completion, transfer, workforce preparation, and academic excellence.
• Oversee academic affairs, student affairs, enrollment management, guided pathways, and workforce education.
• Lead and evaluate the college leadership team and ensure effective operations and personnel practices.
• Manage operating and capital budgets, financial resources, internal controls, and long-term sustainability.
• Maintain productive relationships with employees, unions, and collective bargaining representatives.
• Develop external resources through grants, partnerships, philanthropy, and other opportunities.
• Represent SFCC with employers, K-12 districts, transfer institutions, Tribal nations, community organizations, elected officials, and other partners.
• Advise the Chancellor and participate in district-wide leadership and Board activities.
