Job summary

River Place Behavioral Health in LaPlace, LA, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing practice across our 104-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving adolescents and adults. You will drive strategy, mentor leaders, ensure regulatory compliance, manage staffing and budget, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, strategic input at the executive level, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Louisiana or eligible for endorsement).
• Minimum three years of progressive nursing management or administrative leadership experience.
• Minimum two years behavioral health nursing experience in an inpatient setting.
• Behavioral health leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Prior CNO or Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive nursing strategy and operational excellence across all clinical services.
• Mentor and develop nursing leaders and high‑performing teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (TJC, CMS).
• Oversee staffing, workforce planning, and budget management.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and champion quality improvement initiatives.
• Influence organizational strategy and executive decision‑making.
