Job summary

River Place Behavioral Health is a 104-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving adolescents and adults in the greater New Orleans region. Located in LaPlace, LA, the organization seeks a strategic Chief Nursing Officer to elevate nursing practice and drive exceptional patient outcomes.

As a member of the executive leadership team, the CNO will oversee staffing, budgets, regulatory compliance with TJC and CMS, and collaboration with physicians to advance behavioral health care across the system.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Louisiana or eligible for endorsement)
• Minimum six years of registered nursing experience
• Behavioral health leadership experience preferred
• Prior CNO or Director of Nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Drive nursing strategy and operational excellence across all clinical services
• Mentor and develop nursing leaders and high-performing teams
• Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, and regulatory standards
• Oversee staffing, workforce planning, and budget management
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary treatment teams

Your Impact as CNO

As Chief Nursing Officer, you will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for advancing nursing excellence, operational performance, and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Louisiana or eligible for endorsement)
• Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent experience required
• 10+ years of nursing experience preferred
• Minimum six years of registered nursing experience required
• Behavioral health leadership experience strongly preferred
• Prior CNO or Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred
• Minimum two years behavioral health nursing experience in an inpatient setting required
• Minimum three years of progressive nursing management or administrative leadership experience required
