Job summary

CenterPointe Hospital in St. Charles, MO, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks an experienced Chief Nursing Officer to join the Executive Leadership Team. You will lead nursing strategy, clinical excellence, and operations across the hospital while mentoring nursing leaders and frontline staff.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or eligible for reciprocity).
• Proven Nursing Leadership (CNO, DON, or equivalent).
• Behavioral Health Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting (required).
• Strategic & Operational Expertise with strong interpersonal skills.
• BSN required; MSN or mental health nursing preferred.
• 6+ years RN experience (10+ preferred).
• 3+ years progressive nursing management.
• 2+ years behavioral health RN experience in inpatient psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing strategy, clinical excellence, and operational performance.
• Develop, mentor, and support nursing leaders and frontline staff.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and regulatory standards.
• Drive workforce planning, staffing effectiveness, and nursing resource management.
• Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Monitor quality indicators and champion performance improvement initiatives.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and leadership development.
• Influence organizational planning, decision-making, and long-term growth strategies.
• Foster a culture of accountability, compassion, safety, and patient-centered care.
