Job summary

Wawa, Inc. is seeking a Claims Professional in Corporate Risk Management to manage a claims book, act as MPOC for TPA adjusters, and ensure timely, compliant claim handling. The role emphasizes collaboration with risk leadership, external counsel, and store management to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate will oversee settlements and reserves, escalate complex matters, and participate in safety initiatives while maintaining confidential and accurate communications within the Wawa framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred (Risk Management, Finance, Criminal Justice)
• 2-4 years working in worker’s compensation or liability insurance claims environment
• Ability to use multiple systems to review adjuster notes and run loss reports
• Expert usage of Microsoft Office (M365)

Responsibilities

• Act as MPOC for TPA Adjusters and oversee TPA service quality
• Review materials from claims investigations to determine risk exposure
• Elevate complex claims to Senior Management as needed
• Set/approve settlements and reserves within authority and escalate
• Coordinate with external Legal Counsel Panel and defense counsel as needed
• Meet with TPA adjusters regularly to review claims
• Ensure liaison with store management and call center for accurate reporting
• Lead projects and participate in Safety Committee meetings
