Job summary

The American Society of Civil Engineers in Reston, VA is seeking a strategic professional to develop and implement annual goals that support pathways, recruitment, retention, and skills development for civil engineers. You will lead programs, define evolving roles and career pathways including ASCE's Body of Knowledge, and coordinate content, events, and workforce resources with committees and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3-5 years of engineering, association, workforce development, education, or related experience desired.
• Strong project management and volunteer leadership experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement annual strategies and goals to support broader pathways, recruitment and retention, and essential skills development in civil engineering, aligned with ASCE strategic priorities.
• Develop and manage programs to define and promote evolving roles, competencies, and career pathways including ASCE's Civil Engineering Body of Knowledge, Guidelines for Engineering Grades, and career paths in a central online resource.
• Lead and support the Committee on Career Advancement (CCA), Committee on Licensure Innovation (CLI), and workforce and education related task groups.
• Coordinate educational content, white papers, articles, presentations, and workforce resources.
• Manage budgets, timelines, events, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with committees, volunteers, staff, and external partners to address workforce challenges.
