Job summary

City of Burleson is seeking a finance professional to manage city-wide budget preparation, multi-year projections, and monitoring of revenues and expenditures. The role coordinates department inputs for the operating and capital budgets and supports treasury and debt management activities.

The ideal candidate will work with departments to align financial plans with strategic goals, prepare the adopted budget book, and oversee budget adjustments. A strong background in public finance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in a local government finance environment.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage city-wide budget preparation and multi-year revenue and expenditure projections.
• Coordinate the annual operating and capital budget development process.
• Monitor current revenues and expenditures and project year-end variances against the adopted budget.
• Assist with treasury management including daily cash management and investment planning.
• Support the debt management process including building annual debt service into multi-year forecasts and reconciling bond issuance to the ledger.
• Work with departments on KPIs and goals to align with strategic plans and incorporate results into the adopted budget book.
• Manage budget adjustments submitted by departments.
• Provide backup to other Finance Department responsibilities and general accounting operations.
• Plan, implement, and monitor capital projects throughout the City.

Education
