Job summary

City of Burleson seeks an experienced finance leader to manage the city-wide budget, develop multi-year revenue and expenditure projections, and coordinate the annual operating and capital budget process.

The role monitors current revenues and expenditures, projects year-end variances, assists with treasury and debt management, and collaborates with departments to align budgets with strategic goals and performance indicators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in a local government finance environment.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-year revenue and expenditure projections and coordinate the annual operating and capital budget process.
• Monitor current revenues and expenditures and project year-end estimates for variances against the budget.
• Assist with treasury management including daily cash management and investment planning.
• Support the debt management process including building annual debt service requirements into multi-year budget forecasts.
• Collaborate with departments on KPIs and goals to align with strategic plans and incorporate results into the adopted budget book.
• Manage budget adjustments submitted by departments and provide backup to other Finance Department responsibilities.
