Job summary

The City of Houston seeks an experienced finance professional to assist in developing and implementing financial policies, programs, and analyses to support budgeting and special projects. This role emphasizes accuracy in monthly reports, budget forecasting, and variance analysis.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly financials, annual budget, projections, and providing technical support to service lines.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
Minimum of three years of professional finance, economics or budget分析 experience.
Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience.
Substitution cannot replace the Bachelor's degree requirement.

Responsibilities

Prepare, create, analyze, monitor and forecast monthly financial reports and the annual operating budget.
Provide monthly line-item projections based on year-to-date actuals and trends.
Reconcile and analyze budget vs actual results and prepare variance reports.
Perform routine financial analysis and provide recommendations to management.
Serve as liaison to service lines for monthly projections, budgets, transfers and journal entries.
Prepare manuals, reports, analyses and forecasting data.
Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Significant use of Microsoft Office and SAP.
