Job summary

DLA Piper seeks a Chief Information Security Officer to lead a mature, business-aligned information security program that protects clients, people, data, reputation, and operations globally.

Reporting to firm leadership, the CISO will partner with IT, AI governance, risk, privacy, and procurement to design security-by-design across technology investments and client service delivery, while guiding incident response and governance.”

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive information security leadership in a complex, client-facing environment.
• Executive-level knowledge translating risk into business impact and security strategy.
• Experience advising senior executives, boards, or governance bodies on risk and security matters.
• Strong understanding of professional responsibility, client confidentiality, data classification, and cross-border data considerations.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and privacy regulations.
• Proven ability to lead, influence, and communicate with credibility and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Sets the enterprise information security strategy aligned with firm goals and regulatory expectations.
• Leads the Information Security Management System and security governance with policy development and risk assessment.
• Acts as senior incident response leader for information security events and coordination with GC, regulators, and clients.
• Partners with executive leadership to embed security-by-design into operations, tech investments, and major transformations.
• Oversees cyber risk identification, assessment, treatment, and reporting across the organization and vendors.
• Directs third-party and supplier security risk management to ensure high security standards.
• Builds and leads a high-performing information security organization with clear goals and accountability.
