Job summary

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) seeks a strategic Chief Information Officer to lead IT strategy, governance, and digital transformation. You will oversee cybersecurity, data governance, AI initiatives, and enterprise systems to advance student success and operational excellence.

The role reports to the CFO and sits on the Chancellor’s Senior Leadership Team, guiding policy, risk management, and technology investments across the district office and campuses. On-site in Davenport, IA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field.
• Progressively responsible leadership experience in information technology, including staff, budgets, projects, vendors, and enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, network/system administration, cloud technologies, data governance, and AI in organizational settings.
• Experience developing technology strategies, governance models, policies, standards, and procedures aligning with goals.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning – develop multi-year information technology strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
• Technology Forecasting and Innovation – identify needs and provide technology solutions to improve teaching, learning, and operations.
• IT Governance and Compliance – develop and enforce IT policies, oversee regulatory compliance, assess IT risk.
• Budgeting and Financial Management – manage IT budgets and optimize resource allocations.
• Vendor and Contract Management – negotiate and manage IT vendor contracts; evaluate performance.
• Team Leadership and Management – lead IT staff, staffing, development, performance management.
• Operational Management – ensure reliability, security, accessibility, and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
