Job summary

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges seeks a Chief Information Officer to provide strategic leadership for IT services, systems, cybersecurity, data governance, AI initiatives, and digital transformation. The role reports to the CFO and is a member of the Chancellor’s Senior Leadership Team.

The CIO will guide technology governance, investments, and policies to align with the college’s mission, support student success, and enable responsible innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business administration, public administration, educational leadership, or a related field.
• Progressively responsible leadership experience in information technology, including experience managing IT operations, staff, budgets, projects, vendors, and enterprise systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity, network and systems administration, cloud technologies, IT governance, data management, service delivery, and responsible AI use.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a comprehensive multi-year IT strategy and roadmap aligned with the college's priorities.
• Lead IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity disaster recovery planning.
• Oversee IT budgeting, financial management, and resource allocations.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors and service providers.
• Foster a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement within the IT team.
• Provide leadership in digital transformation, AI initiatives, and data governance across the institution.
• Ensure technology investments support student success and operational effectiveness.
