Job summary

WSP USA, Inc. in Seattle seeks a Senior Vice President, Transportation Planning to lead a 10–15 person team of transportation planning professionals, delivering high‑quality analyses and programs.

You will guide data‑driven decisions, manage budgets, pursue new business, and ensure compliance with regulations, while collaborating across disciplines to provide future‑ready solutions for clients. This role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, civil engineering, urban planning, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 15+ years of experience in a corporate environment working in the transportation planning field with broad exposure to plans, zoning, public involvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of zoning laws, permitting requirements, and regulatory frameworks affecting transportation projects.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Advanced proficiency with office automation and communication software and tools.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides group direction and thought leadership in emerging areas of transportation planning including transit, complete streets, resilience planning, and data analytics.
• Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the planning discipline and function to ensure deliverables meet objectives.
• Oversee the use and quality of transportation and traffic data to assess modal operations and effects on transport systems.
• Guide the use of diverse data sources to determine project locations and impacts.
• Lead large, complex transportation planning projects, manage budgets, track hours, and supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams through siting, impact assessment, and permitting phases.
