Job summary

Ag 1 Source is seeking a Chief Credit Officer in Central Kansas to provide strategic leadership over the bank’s credit function and to drive sound risk management as the bank grows.

This executive will mentor lenders, oversee credit administration, lead the loan committee, develop underwriting standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with senior leaders on succession planning and credit culture.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial credit experience within community banking.
• Previous leadership experience in credit administration or lending management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, loan policy, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading loan committee discussions and making sound credit decisions.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bank’s overall credit administration function.
• Provide leadership and oversight of loan operations, credit analysis, and compliance functions.
• Chair and guide the loan committee alongside executive leadership.
• Develop, implement, and maintain sound credit policies and underwriting standards.
• Partner with lenders to structure quality loan transactions while balancing growth and risk.
• Mentor, coach, and develop commercial lenders throughout the organization.
• Monitor credit quality, problem assets, portfolio concentrations, and overall loan risk.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain strong relationships with examiners.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and succession planning.
• Foster a credit culture that emphasizes education, consistency, creativity, and sound judgment.
