Qualifications

• JD required; advanced degree in compliance or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, or related functions.
• Professional licensing, certification or registration directly related to the job, as specified in the posting details.

Responsibilities

• Guides compliance guidance to the Audit and Compliance Committee with input from the Office of Legal Affairs.
• Develops, maintains and revises policies and procedures for the UHS Compliance Program to prevent illicit or improper conduct.
• Interfaces with senior administration, faculty, staff, and government officials to advance strategic compliance programs.
• Provides training across UHS compliance programs and clarifies duties to ensure ethical and legal behavior.
• Identifies compliance vulnerabilities and collaborates with Legal Affairs to design policies for current and future risk.
• Develops and implements policies to comply with applicable laws and raises awareness of the compliance program.
• Works with Legal Affairs, Internal Audit and other departments to address alleged violations and standardize handling.
• Monitors and coordinates compliance activities to track status and identify trends.
• Directs short- and long-term strategic and operational goals for the UHS compliance programs.
• Conducts internal reviews to assess compliance with laws and regulations.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
