Job summary

Guidehouse in Washington, DC is seeking a Strategic Change Communications Consultant to help federal clients transform care delivery and modernization initiatives, translating complex programs into clear, audience-focused communications.

You will develop strategies, executive materials, multi-channel campaigns, and readiness activities, partnering with leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders to drive adoption and organizational change in a fast-paced government health environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding.
• Bachelor’s Degree; four years of additional experience may substitute.
• Minimum of three years of experience in strategic communications or related fields.
• Experience supporting modernization or large-scale programs.
• Ability to translate complex changes into clear communications.
• Experience developing executive communications and leadership materials.
• Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, workforce transition, and adoption.
• Strong writing, editing, presentation, and storytelling skills.
• Experience developing multi-channel campaigns and adoption-focused materials.
• Ability to collaborate with executives, technical teams, and stakeholders.
• US Citizenship required; must reside in contiguous United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated change communication strategies for large-scale modernization.
• Design approaches to increase awareness, readiness, and user adoption.
• Assess stakeholder impacts and tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
• Partner with change management and business teams to align communications with milestones.
• Develop communication plans with analysis, channels, risks, and success measures.
• Serve as trusted advisor to executive leaders; translate priorities into impactful communications.
• Create executive-level products: leadership messages, talking points, briefings, toolkits.
• Support executive visibility and sponsorship activities to reinforce commitment.
• Translate complex concepts into clear communications on technology and process changes.
• Create high-quality communications products: newsletters, updates, FAQs, videos, campaigns.
• Ensure adherence to federal plain language and accessibility standards.
• Monitor readiness and adoption metrics; adjust strategies as needed.
• Contribute to a high-performing team; support business development and mentoring.
