Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial oversight and consolidated fiscal management of the organization. The CFO will work with the CEO, Tribal Council, and stakeholders to ensure strong financial performance and governance.

The role requires a Master’s in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred, and 8–10 years of experience in tribal or large-scale finance, with a track record in budgeting, audits, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
• Eight to ten years of combined accounting and financial management experience.
• Eight years of experience working for tribal organizations.
• Eight years of experience managing people.
• Five years of grant management experience.
• Five years of contract management experience, including PL 93-638 contracting.
• Five years of managing an Operating Budget of $25 million and up.
• Five years of experience managing organizational finances with consolidated assets of $25 million and up.
• Valid driver’s license required.

• Develop and manage the annual budget and AOP.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audits.
