Job summary

The Nautical Group, retained by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain, is leading the search for its next Chief Financial Officer. The CFO will serve as the senior financial executive, partner with the CEO and Board, and oversee GAAP-compliant financial operations, budgeting, audits, and grants management.

This hands-on, executive leadership role requires strategic thinking, strong accounting expertise in nonprofit environments, and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience.
• 5+ years leading finance operations and supervising staff.
• Experience managing nonprofit accounting operations and audits.
• Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership to CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
• Lead annual operating and capital budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Oversee accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, cash, fixed assets.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and audit coordination.
• Prepare financial reports for Board and Finance Committee.
• Manage grants and reporting; optimize financial performance.
