Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) seeks a Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial and acquisition leadership with a $4B budget. The CFO will oversee finance, procurement, internal controls, and enterprise systems, reporting to the Laboratory Principal Deputy Director.

The ideal candidate brings deep financial leadership in a federally regulated, complex environment, and can drive modernization and strategic resource allocation across ~300-350 staff in Finance and

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for DOE Q clearance.
• Senior level leadership and management acumen in a large research/technical org.
• Extensive experience in financial management, procurement, and acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key advisor to Laboratory leadership and set priorities.
• Lead budgeting, accounting, treasury, disbursement, and acquisition strategy.
• Drive modernization of financial and business systems and processes.
• Ensure GAAP/CAS/OMB A-123 compliance and strong internal controls.
• Collaborate with CIO and leaders to enable automation and AI-enabled workflows.
