Job summary

Confidential Search is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team in the Baltimore, MD area on a hybrid basis. This hands-on role partners with ownership to drive growth, oversees all finance functions, and leads strategic planning and risk management.

The ideal candidate combines executive presence with practical, day-to-day accounting leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. CPA/MBA and 10+ years of experience are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• Experience as CFO/Controller/director of finance or senior finance executive.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and strategic planning background.
• Proven ability to communicate with executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Hands-on leadership balancing strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and senior leadership on financial and operational matters.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and treasury activities.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes and provide insights into performance and profitability.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational metrics to support decision-making.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk.
• Ensure integrity of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with standards.
• Partner with operations to improve efficiencies and profitability.
• Mentor and develop accounting and finance staff.
• Evaluate systems and reporting capabilities for improvements.
