Job summary

Pierre Landscape in Irwindale, CA is seeking a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team and partner directly with the President. You will own financial operations across Accounting, Purchasing, and Fleet, and drive growth as a leader in a profitable specialty contractor.

As CFO, you will guide capital allocation, risk management, and financial planning while leading department managers and delivering high-level insights to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive financial leadership with 5+ years at Controller/CFO level in construction or project-based industries.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, full-cycle construction accounting, job costing, WIP, union payroll, bonding, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the President and executive leadership to define long-term financial strategy and growth initiatives.
• Oversee accounting, purchasing, and fleet operations to protect project margins and optimize costs.
• Lead annual budgeting, variance analysis, and multi-year financial forecasting.
• Direct construction accounting, project reporting, and cost-to-complete analysis; manage payroll and certified payroll compliance.
• Develop leadership across departments and establish scalable processes with clear metrics.
