Job summary

Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is seeking a skilled Comptroller to direct the Financial Division, ensuring accurate accounting, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting. You will oversee ledgers, budgets, and procurement, while advising on policies and maintaining compliance with FASB/GASB standards.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience, CPA preferred, and a track record in complex accounting systems.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• Minimum five years as a Comptroller or lead accounting professional.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software and systems.
• Strong supervisory experience and fiscal oversight.
• Knowledge of FASB and GASB standards.
• Ability to analyze budgets, proposals, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall operation of the Financial Division and provide leadership.
• Prepare financial status reports, long-range plans, and budget oversight.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial data presentation and audits.
• Oversee ledgers, procurement, and confidential files.
• Advise on accounting policies and internal controls.
• Coordinate budgets, grants/contract proposals, and procurement matters.
• Forecast cash needs and report to Reservation Business Committee.
