Job summary

San Antonio Zoo in San Antonio, TX seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead finances and strategy for this nonprofit wildlife organization. You will oversee budgets, reporting, controls, and financial planning to support programs and growth.

You will work with the President/CEO, board, and senior leadership to ensure compliance, risk management, and efficient operations, while aligning resources with conservation goals and community initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years in a senior finance role.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Experience in non-profit governance and compliance.
• Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operating and capital budgets and funding sources.
• Maintains internal controls and financial reporting.
• Develops financial pro formas for programs and partnerships.
• Presents financial information to CEO, SLT, board and stakeholders.
• Oversees payroll and contracts administration.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and risk management.
