Job summary

Everly Talent is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a New York State nonprofit serving individuals affected by homelessness and offering youth programming. You will chair the finance function, shape strategy beyond numbers, and secure the financial health of a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities include advising the ED and Board, directing accounting, managing government contracts, overseeing budgeting/forecasting, and building a strong finance team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 5+ years at a senior leadership level.
  • Experience leading finance for nonprofit with $25M+ operating budget.
  • Substantial government contract finance experience and Uniform Guidance/Single Audit knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as principal financial advisor to the Executive Director and staff lead to the Board's Finance & Audit Committee.
  • Direct accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP compliance.
  • Oversee financial administration of diverse government contracts (federal, state, city) including claiming and cost allocation.
  • Lead annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting, cash management, and annual audit.
  • Supervise and develop a high-performing finance team.
