Job summary

Everly Talent is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a New York State nonprofit serving individuals affected by homelessness and offering youth programming. You will chair the finance function, shape strategy beyond numbers, and secure the financial health of a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities include advising the ED and Board, directing accounting, managing government contracts, overseeing budgeting/forecasting, and building a strong finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 5+ years at a senior leadership level.
• Experience leading finance for nonprofit with $25M+ operating budget.
• Substantial government contract finance experience and Uniform Guidance/Single Audit knowledge.

A New York State nonprofit serving individuals impacted by homelessness and offering innovative youth programming is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team. This is a true seat at the executive table - you'll shape strategy well beyond the finance function while leading the fiscal health of a mission-driven organization.

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for:

• Serving as principal financial advisor to the Executive Director and staff lead to the Board's Finance & Audit Committee
• Directing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP compliance
• Overseeing the financial administration of a diverse federal, state, and city government contract portfolio, including claiming, cost allocation, and indirect cost recovery
• Leading annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting, cash management, and the annual audit and Single Audit
• Supervising and developing a high-performing finance team

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 5+ years at a senior leadership level (CFO, Deputy CFO, Controller, or VP of Finance)
• Experience leading finance for a nonprofit with an operating budget of $25M+
• Substantial government contract finance experience, including reimbursement-based claiming, cost allocation, and Uniform Guidance/Single Audit requirements
