Job summary

Center for Large Landscape Conservation (CLLC) seeks a seasoned Chief Finance Officer to lead finance, operations, HR, and IT. The CFO reports to the CEO and serves on the Executive Team, shaping budgets, multi-year forecasts, and board reporting.

The role manages restricted/unrestricted funds, government grants, and a growing endowment, while guiding risk and compliance. Based in Bozeman, MT with flexible arrangements including hybrid or remote options, the CFO will lead a small operations team

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; CPA preferred.
Minimum five years of progressive fiscal/accounting management in nonprofit; CFO/Finance Director experience.
Strong knowledge of nonprofit governance, grants, contracts, and gifts.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, and long-term forecasting.
Maintain strong financial controls and reporting for Board and Finance Committee.
Oversee grants, contracts budgets, compliance, and funder reporting.
Manage payroll, timekeeping, and banking and investment accounts.
Oversee annual audit, tax filings, risk management and insurance.
