Job summary

Govig is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for a large commercial contractor based in Phoenix, AZ. The CFO will lead all financial operations, strategy, and risk management across multiple states, guiding growth and ensuring financial discipline.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in senior finance roles, including at least 5 years as CFO, with multi-state experience and strong M&A, modeling, and due diligence capabilities. MBA or CPA is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior finance role, with at least 5 years as a CFO or similar leadership position within a high-revenue company.
• MBA or CPA required.
• Extensive experience with multi-state operations, and construction finance is required.
• Demonstrated expertise in M&A, financial modeling, due diligence, and strategic analysis.
• Proven skills in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employee-owners.
• Strategic thinker with a collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, with fiscal policy guidance.
• Oversee capital allocation, financial reporting, and KPIs to support growth.
• Lead financial analysis, due diligence, and integration planning for M&A opportunities.
• Collaborate with the executive team on acquisitions and valuation models.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reports to CEO and Board.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, accounting standards, and audits across states.
• Monitor cash flow, project financing, and resource allocation for efficiency.
• Develop and mentor the finance team and foster a high-performance culture.
