Job summary

The Quest Organization in Utah is actively seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead finance and accounting, partner with executive leadership, and drive financial performance, growth, and risk management. This senior role oversees budgeting, cash flow, and project profitability across construction operations.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in finance, with 5+ in construction, plus CPA or MBA. Relocation to Utah is supported.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including 5+ years in commercial construction.
  • Prior CFO, VP Finance, Controller, or comparable senior finance leadership experience.
  • Experience with a $100M+ commercial general contractor or building subcontractor.
  • Hands-on ESOP experience, including valuations, accounting, compliance, and repurchase planning.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, WIP, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams and partnering with executive and operational leadership.
  • CPA, MBA, or advanced degree in finance/accounting preferred.
  • Strong career progression and demonstrated long-term tenure with prior employers.
  • Willingness to relocate to Utah; relocation assistance available.

  • Lead all finance, accounting, treasury, and financial reporting functions.
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and long-term financial planning.
  • Direct construction accounting, including job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, project forecasting, and profitability.
  • Manage audits, internal controls, financial reporting, and accounting policies.
  • Oversee banking, debt, lender reporting, and surety/bonding relationships.
  • Lead ESOP valuation, accounting, compliance, repurchase planning, and trustee/advisor relationships.
  • Partner with operations to improve project performance, margins, cash flow, and risk management.
  • Support acquisitions, financing, capital structure, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.
