Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an experienced Data Science professional to lead the CDSO study team, aligning study strategies with program objectives and coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure timely, compliant study execution.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills, with responsibility for coordinating stakeholders, monitoring timelines, and driving process improvements across the data strategy and operations domain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS, CS, or life sciences; Master’s preferred.
• PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired.
• 3+ years pharma/clinical research/data management/health care experience or 5+ years project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Align CDSO study teams with program- and study-level strategies; lead the CDSO Study Team and represent DS on cross-functional study teams.
• Serve as single point of contact and accountable operational lead from CDSO; coordinate study teams to meet operational objectives and engage global functional/cross-functional teams.
• Interact with and influence cross-functional team members to achieve program and study objectives.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to optimize execution, manage internal/external resources, track progress, prepare status reports, and proactively identify and resolve issues affecting timelines or quality.
• Ensure adherence to federal/local regulations, GCP, ICH guidelines, AbbVie SOPs, and functional quality standards; stay current on evolving regulations and policies.
• Oversee vendors and provide feedback on study operations, issues, and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates (may include indirect supervision of contract resources).
• Participate in CDSO and cross-functional innovation and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute study execution “lessons learned” across functions.
