Qualifications

• 5+ years in cattle feeding, procurement, or livestock operations.
• Experience with grid marketing and packer negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of futures markets and hedging strategies.
• Experience managing breed and G-Schedule cattle programs.
• Strong financial literacy and performance analysis skills.
• High integrity and decisive leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase fed cattle aligned with market conditions and company objectives.
• Evaluate cattle performance and carcass value.
• Monitor cost of gain, closeouts, breakevens, and profitability.
• Analyze market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate cattle deliveries with plant leadership and barn personnel.
• Oversee animal health protocols and veterinary coordination.
• Manage market exposure through futures hedging and risk management.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
