Job summary

The Toro Company, headquartered in Bloomington, MN, is seeking a Category Specialist to optimize supplier relationships and drive cost reductions within ISC. This hybrid role collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement long-term agreements and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in a related field, have 2–4+ years in sourcing, and possess SAP/ERP experience. The role supports continuous improvement and offers a clear path toward Category Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in supply chain, operations, or engineering.
• Experience level determined by years in sourcing (Specialist I-III).
• Experience with SAP/ERP and MRP systems is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and grow supplier relationships to align with ISC goals.
• Develop and implement supply agreements and long-term partnerships.
• Execute cost reduction strategies through supplier negotiations and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead category-specific strategy using data and historical insights.
• Collaborate with Category Manager on negotiations and contracts.
• Lead supplier transitions and participate in improvement projects.
• Analyze quotes using the TCO model with the category team.
