Job summary

ABB Distribution Solutions Division in Pinetops, NC seeks an experienced Category Manager to develop and execute procurement strategies focused on cost, quality, delivery, and reliability for assigned categories. You will guide frame agreements, manage supplier relations, and align with HSE and corporate procedures in a on-site role at 3022 NC-43, Pinetops, NC.

You should bring 5+ years in category management or strategic sourcing within manufacturing, plus strong data analytics, negotiation,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles in manufacturing.
Strong category strategy development skills, including spend analysis, market assessment, and supplier segmentation.
Proven supplier management, negotiation, cost savings, contract optimization, and risk mitigation.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost drivers (direct materials, MRO, CAPEX).
Experience with contract management, drafting, reviewing, and enforcing terms and SLAs.
Data-driven decision making with spend analytics, KPIs, and procurement systems (ERP, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba).
Strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, engineering, quality, finance, and suppliers.
Knowledge of local/regional supplier markets, regulations, and compliance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management; able to influence at local level.

Responsibilities

Develop, plan, and implement procurement strategy for assigned category to optimize costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers.
Ensure execution per company procedures and manage frame agreements with suppliers.
Manage planning and tracking of procurement activities, budgets, and savings forecasts.
Minimize risk by compliance with quality, commercial procedures, and guidelines.
Establish local standard agreements with major suppliers; design cost-out programs.
Ensure health and safety for teams in scope and drive HSE improvements.
Promote collaboration across divisions to maximize results for ABB.
Maintain standard terms in purchase contracts in line with directives.
