Job summary

Donaldson Company, Inc. is seeking a Category Manager, Procurement to lead procurement strategy development and supplier negotiations supporting global operations from a Bloomington-based hybrid role in the United States.

You will monitor commodity markets, drive cost reductions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable supply and optimal total costs. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and experience in supplier development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of procurement experience, ideally in buying and negotiation.
• CPSM certification would be ideal.
• Proven negotiation skills using data-driven techniques.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies to meet supply and financial objectives.
• Monitor commodity markets and refine strategies accordingly.
• Conduct fact-based negotiations to drive best total cost and ensure continuous supply.
• Communicate category strategies and trends to leadership and stakeholders.
• Manage pricing to align with market conditions and costs of inputs.
• Identify and onboard suppliers aligned with sourcing objectives and develop performance metrics.
• Provide supplier performance reviews and action plans for improvement.
• Support plant and distribution center teams to align servicing with profitable operations.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality Management to achieve quality targets (50 DPPM).
• Perform risk assessments of the supply base and implement countermeasures.
