Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supply chain performance across assigned categories. You will lead sourcing activities, manage suppliers, and ensure contracts align with business needs.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7 years in strategic sourcing or procurement, with ERP proficiency (SAP/Oracle) and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement.
• Proven record of developing and implementing category strategies and achieving cost savings.
• Negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• CPM or CPSM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply chain performance.
• Manage sourcing activities including RFQ/RFP development, negotiation, contract management, and supplier selection.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and conduct business reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement with suppliers to enhance category performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and other departments to align strategies with business needs.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with regulations.
