Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a skilled Procurement Category Manager to shape and drive category strategies across energy-related supply chains from Raleigh, NC. You will lead sourcing activities, negotiate contracts, and optimize supplier performance to support reliable operations.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to align procurement with business needs, identify cost savings, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years in strategic sourcing or procurement.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply chain performance.
• Manage RFQ/RFP development, negotiation, and contract management.
• Build relationships with key suppliers and conduct business reviews.
• Drive cost reduction opportunities and supplier performance improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance and other departments to align strategy with business needs.
• Monitor market and regulatory developments relevant to assigned categories.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
