J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Capacity Procurement Representative to negotiate carrier rates, build a carrier base, and ensure freight is covered with on-time pickups and reliable service.

You will market Carrier360 to carriers to boost efficiency and visibility of freight movement while supporting best-in-class execution. Under routine supervision, you will establish carrier relationships, monitor shipments, and deliver accurate updates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with up to 1 year experience in transportation/logistics or related fields.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends if needed.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with carriers to meet revenue and margin goals.
• Serve as liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers.
• Manage freight in transit and monitor movement for on-time pickup and delivery.
• Use Carrier360 to tender loads and maintain shipment records.
• Communicate service failures to minimize costs and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure best-in-class service and safety.
• Leverage Carrier360 to increase carrier efficiency and automation.
• Verify carrier authenticity and tracking before pickup.
• Stay informed on market trends to refine negotiation tactics.
• Understand customer service expectations and provide timely transportation updates.
