Job summary

The City of Miami Beach seeks a highly responsible professional to lead engineering/architectural and project management work across all phases of capital improvement projects, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.

Responsibilities include managing design/construction with architects, engineers, and contractors, overseeing contract administration and on-site inspection, and preparing grant applications and project budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in architecture, engineering, construction management or closely related field.
• Three or more years of project management experience on professional architecture, engineering, or construction projects.
• Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage design and construction projects through architects, engineers and contractors.
• Provide construction contract administration, on-site project support and inspection.
• Review and approve contractor payment applications, change orders, budgets, and schedules.
• Assist in selecting consulting architects/engineers for Capital Projects and review proposals.
• Prepare funding applications for grants from Federal, State, and County agencies.
• Prepare project status reports and related documents.
