Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Cincinnati is seeking a Corporate Capital Strategy Manager to lead enterprise-wide maintenance capital strategies across retail divisions, coordinating with finance, operations, and division leaders to optimize asset investments and replacement planning.

You will develop asset-level strategies, perform lifecycle analyses using age, lifespan and maintenance history, forecast capital needs, and drive data-driven decisions to maximize asset reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in capital management.
• Strong knowledge of lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, and building envelope standards.
• Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, maintenance systems, and safety regulations.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in CMMS, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
• Strong financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Build an asset-level strategy for maintenance capital across divisions.
• Conduct lifecycle analyses to forecast capital needs and replacement schedules.
• Use maintenance spend data to decide when replacement is cheaper than repair.
• Track end-of-life assets and inform proactive replacement planning.
• Partner with leaders, maintenance teams, and finance to align on strategy.
• Develop models to forecast enterprise maintenance capital needs.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership on outcomes.
• Implement process improvements in capital planning.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide guidance and training on capital strategy principles.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews.
• Travel up to 30%.
