Job summary

CSU Bakersfield is seeking a Campus Rec Business Operations Analyst to manage day-to-day budget and accounting operations for the Campus Recreation department, supporting a ~$12M annual budget. The role emphasizes financial analysis, reporting, and ensuring audit-ready records.

Under supervision, you will coordinate payroll auditing, procurement, travel processing, and student employment processes, while providing administrative support and helping develop departmental procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training; 2 years administrative work experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and reporting practices.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare accurate financial projections.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for day-to-day budget and accounting operations for the department’s ~$12M annual budget.
• Perform routine and moderately complex financial analysis and prepare quarterly reports.
• Coordinate payroll auditing, procurement, travel processing, and personnel paperwork.
• Support student employment functions by coordinating hiring/training and supervising a student manager.
• Collaborate with campus accounting and budget teams to ensure compliance and process improvements.
